I’ve been updating the site here and there. You’ll notice a few new things. The first is the “Read More” ability and the track how many reads a certain story has recieved. Also, I’ve put my custom tags into effect. Finally I imported all of my old news articles from the old version of miester code. The next thing to come is importing the old articles.

Miester goes wireless
I’ve been in the market for a new palm pilot of some sort. I only had a few requirements: 1.) sync with linux, 2.) cheap, 3.) offer the personal apps. As many geeks before I make purchases I go shopping on eBay. What I found was a Palm V for 99.99! So I bought that and then started looking at the accessories. Like many geeks I yearned to go wireless … well good news OmniSky is now selling off there wireless modems for 69.00 after a mail in rebate. So I end up with a serious wireless solution for 170.00 – not bad!
My main man
Donald Rumsfeld has become my favorite figure in this “War on Terrorism.” He doesn’t make any bones about it – he wants the Taliban out, dead or alive. In fact he went so far as to say “make no mistakes we want them either captured or dead.” Finally, a politician telling it like it is!
Another weapon in a geek's arsenal
If you’re a geek, like I am, you HATE doing laundry. What you most likely hate doing more than doing laundry is ironing those clothes. I’ve found the answer, Downy Wrinkle Releaser. This stuff is AMAZING! A few sprays and PRESTO wrinkle free clothing.
Stock tip
I’ve been dumping a lot of money into my stock accounts. Mainly because the market is really depressed right now. If you watch CNBC you’ll hear nothing but analysts talking about which stocks are “on sale.” One I like (and the analysts back me up here) is Disney. It’s down 50% on the year at 20’ish a share with a 5 year average of 40’ish a share. They own ABC, ESPN, etc. and look really good. Another stock that looks good is AOL.
Geek Test
I probably work in computers, or a history
deptartment at a college. I never really
fit in with the “normal” crowd. But I have
friends, and this is a good thing.
Wedding
Rosie and I went to a wedding this weekend. It was for one of her sorority sisters and turned out to be a pretty good time. In other news I was voted in as President of my local chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma
Don't be a fool!
I’ve recently been thinking about pouring more money into the market. Why? Mainly because the market is depressed and when it’s depressed you should buy (as history will tell you). I’ve found the best place to get info about investing for morons (like me) is Fool.com. If you are interested in either trading your self or learning what the hell you are paying your stock guy for – this is where to start.
Paint Ball
Saturday I played paintball for the first time. It was my fraternity versus the Arm of Honor (a local fraternity). Out of 4 games of capture the flag we won 3 – two of which I captured the flag. I’m covered in bruises, but it was worth the fun!
Drivers Ed.
Today I was walking down the street when I came to a “Don’t Walk” sign with a car stopped at the green light. I looked at the green light then at the driver who seemed not to care about the green light. I shrugged my shoulders and walked across the stree. The passenger then asked me where “Traffic Court” was and I pointed to the country court building on the opposite corner. He said thanks and then the driver proceeded to turn left through the now red light. The irony here is just too much …
