Tomorrow I get my wisdom teeth out. Many people have told me it isn’t a big deal, while others (including my girlfriend who has yet to get hers out) have told me that it will be a horrific experience. I’ve had teeth pulled before and it wasn’t that horrific, but they do put you under for this specific procedure. I think the part I’m more horrified about is the IV. I hate needles.

Ugh.
I hate washing clothes. Doing the laundry is quite possibly the worst thing on earth to do. It’s time consuming, makes you hot and sweaty, fogs your glasses, and in the end your clothes come out wrinkled leading to more wasted time ironing them. I propose either a.) we create disposable clothing or b.) we make it fashionable to wear dirty clothing. Now that I think about it Kurt Cobain did make it somewhat fashionable to wear dirty clothing …
Bourbon St.
I have to say, without a doubt, New Orleans is a fun town that has earned its reputation. Not only is beer cheap, but you can walk from bar to bar with your beer (no open intox laws). Very nice! I’m not sure who’s idea it was to bring 350 fraternity boys here for a big party, but I should hunt them down and thank them.
Internal Alarm set to 9:30am
I was up at the LAN party until about 3 before I decided to head home. After horrible 20 minute drive home in one of the most amazing lightning storms I had ever seen, I was tired as hell. As per usual I woke up at exactly (and I mean exactly) 9:30am. Like most days I stay up late and my “alarm” goes off this early I’ll stay up until about 10:30am or so and sleep a few more hours.
Concert Season
It’s that time of the year again. Before dating Lauren I really didn’t go to concerts, however, since meeting her I’ve been to two. Both have been a lot of fun. The first was to see Default (Lauren’s favorite band) at the House of Blues in Chicago. The second time I happened accross tickets to see Dashboard Confessional and Weezer. Default was amazing (as was their warmup Injected) as was Dashboard Confessional. However, Weezer completely stole the show. Having not been a huge follower I was plesantly surprised to find them to be an outstanding band. They blew both Lauren and I away.
Vacation
I’ve been out of commission for a few days. The reason? I went up north to witness my brother’s graduation from high school. Lauren and I headed up on Tuesday and spent most of the time watching movies. I’d like to take one moment to say life north of the 45th parallel is completely different than that of us “flatlanders” – ack.
w00t!
Exams are over! All hail the summertime! I have a busy summer schedule planned: work, beer, work, office hours, beer, work, vacation + beer, and some family/girlfriend time as well. (Did I mention beer?) Seriously, the summertime for college students is a time to lay back and enjoy life. I’ll be enjoying life at the disc golf course, with my girlfriend, and possibly a trip to Cali to see my coworkers.
Drastic Measures
The other day I took a drastic step to establishing financial freedom – I cut up all my credit cards. I kept one, my structure card – which never has over a 100.00 balance on it. The rest I destroyed. It felt good! Credit debt is the only thing keeping me from the better things in life – namely a house and a car 🙂
Northern Michigan
So I traveled to East Jordan (about 45 minutes northeast of Traverse City) to visit my parents and little brother. I traveled through hell to get up there and ended up sitting on my ass the whole time. I did watch the Dune miniseries though – some of the best SciFi I’ve seen yet.
Chicago
This weekend was a first for me – I went to Chicago. It was a Christmas present from a friend. We went to the Art Institute of Chicago to see the Vincent van Gogh exhibit. It was an awesome site for sure. Most of his notable paintings were on display, including my favorite – Starry Night.
