Long time no see

Well I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks. Why? Well I’ve been working a lot – on a few projects. That combined with school, faternity, girlfriend, etc. has kept me away from miester.org. I plan on revising this site soon and putting up some new stuff, simplifying the codebase, etc. I’m thinking of turning this more into a personal site.

SPARC and Debian

I have a bunch of SPARC boxes that I bought of ebay a few weeks ago. Since I’m finally settled in I have gotten a chance to play with them. Two of them installed without incident – the SPARC Classic and the SPARC Station LX. Thus they are sporting debian stickers. My IPC has a bad NVRAM chip – but I plan on recycling the external hard drive and the ram for my other machines. I also got a IBM P200 monitor for suns (it’s 21in and awesome!). All in all it’s been fun!

Raging Bull Review

It took me a while but I finally got around to watching “Raging Bull”. It was a LONG flick – but good. I’m amazed at how much weight DeNiro gained for the last half of the movie (you can’t even recognize him!). I might even have to go out and buy it myself.

On my way

Seth told me that I start everything with “Well” or “So”. Thus, I’m going to try and mix it up a little bit. I’ve been packing up and sending things home. $200.00 worth of shipping thus far. Hopefully, there won’t be any more shipments – I might go broke!

Day 3

Some of you may know I’ve recently decided to give up caffiene. Being the major Mt. Dew freak that I am this has been a large undertaking. Saturday (my first day) I could hardly thing the headaches were so bad. I’m now recovering from Day 2 which was a lot easier going. I’ve found that the easy thing to do is drink Sprite (caffiene free) – it’s kind of like the Patch…

Dude Where's My Car Review

Well… I went and saw “Dude, Where’s My Car?” today. Earlier last week I saw “Dungeons & Dragons”. I was expecting the first to be a GREAT movie, unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to it’s expectations. Don’t get me wrong – it was really funny at times, but didn’t live up to “Road Trip” or “American Pie” IMO. The latter was a dismal portrayal of a game so many geeks cherish. I, personally, wasn’t a D&D person, but I can imagine it’s cooler than the movie depicted!

New Case

Well, as many of you may know, I have this HUGE case that I used to house Bertha in. Well it’s been shed for a LOT nicer case. It’s not quite as big, but it’s a QUALITY case! I bought the Antec Performance Series SX1030 case. It has a hinged lockable side panel, a front lockable door, 2 3 inch fans inside the case (not to mention the monster cooling the beefy 300 watt power supply), big feet, and (my favorite) removable drive bays – meaning you just push in the clips and remove your drive – NO SCREWS! Oh, and with Tux on the front it looks really sexy.
