I’m reading Up in the Air a book by Walter Kirn. It’s about a guy who wants to amass 1,000,000 frequent flier miles before he quits his job. I’m only 2 chapters in and I’ve laughed out loud about 20 times – so far a great read. In other news my home network is shaping up – more to come.
Homecoming
Homecoming 2001 was great. Our second annual Smash-A-Thon raised a ton of money for the relief effort in NYC. I’ll be putting up pics soon (probably about the same time I put the Martis Gras pics up.
Bin Laden Toilet Paper
If you are interested (and I must admit I am) in wiping your ass with caricatures of Osama bin Laden then check out this story.
Martis Gras party
Another Sig Tau Martis Gras party has come and gone. What an enormous turnout! We had well over 200 people packed into the house with tons of beads flying all over the place. I’ll have pics up later tonight.
US responds to terror
Today the President of the United States authorized attacks against military and al Quaeda installations within the country of Afghanistan. I fully support this move and the humanitarian efforts that are taking place along side the military strikes. I’d like to point out this article. The quote near the bottom is from a 4th grade girl whose father is in the military – “As much as I don’t want my dad to fight I’m willing to give him to you.” The will shown by the American people is amazing, making me proud.
.50?!?!?
You might be laughing at the title, but the truth is I paid 50 cents to use a pay phone today, which I find crazy. I could talk on my cell phone for 5 minutes for the same price!
Three Peas in a Pod
Rant
I was sitting in IS 442 (a Sr. level computer class) when the teacher whips out a 486 computer and tells everyone in the class who doesn’t know what a CPU looks like to come up to the front of the class. All but 5 went up! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? I’m gonna have to work with some of these shmucks someday?!?
Cleveland State
What a kick ass time! About a dozen brothers from Alpha Theta chapter visited the Sig Taus at Cleveland State for their annual toga party. Just imagine 200 college kids in togas …
Damn Banks
Standard Federal has been getting on my nerves lately so I have decided to switch to a different bank. I think I’ve found a good bank in Key Bank. They let you trade, bank, and plan all from one web interface. This is especially attractive to those of use who have 401k’s, stocks, mutual funds, savings, and checking accounts at 10 bazillion different companies.
