Debris.com, a site that has found its way into my daily surfing habits, has an interesting tidbit on it’s site about the different HOWTO’s available on the internet.

startup.com Review
Startup.com is a documentary that follows the life of GovWorks.com. It’s a lesson to all those who think starting a dotcom is easy work. I thought it was a great movie and could fully appreciate it considering I work for a startup.

Move over Big Brother – here comes …
Acme Rent-a-Car? Here is an extremely creepy story about Acme tracking the speed of rental cards and assessing fines when speed limits are broken. I have a feeling Uncle Sam is gonna be ticked that others are invading his pockets. It brings up all sorts of issues about privacy, due process, etc.
AOLos?
Due to the recent snafu between AOL and Microsoft over placement of AOL in Windows XP, one has to wonder if AOL will toss its hat into the OS arena. They could, of course, make their own Linux distro. However, I would think a purchase of BeOS would be more in line with their strategy. And with as many uses as AOL has – this could be the end of Microsoft.
5th Avenue
Last night I went out for Zorka’s bday. The whole crew came out and it was all in all a good time. We ended up seeing two REALLY good bands. They were King Konga and Pause For Effect. Good times had by all!
Geek – Introvert or Genius?
Here is a great story about breaking the stereotypes that surrounds the term “Geek”. I personally wear my geekness like a badge, but others still feel it emits “loser”. The story is centered around geek girls, but you get the point.
How'd you do it?
Some people may be asking how I created my site. Well for the top banner I used a combination of gimp and photoshop (my fonts are screwed in gimp), I used CSS for the first time, PHP Convert was used to make the thumbnails, Image Create to make the headings on the fly, and my own 31337 hacker skills for the rest. Soon to come is my DVD archive (not the DVD’s – just titles and my own ratings) and also a rants section.
New site design
As many of you may have noticed, I have changed the site design. What I did was go around and look at personal sites that I thought were cool and had a nice interface and then brought together what I liked into one page. Hope you like it.
