I don’t even have to comment on an article titled ‘Enemy Contact. Kill ’em, Kill ’em.’
“The first time I shot someone, it was the most exhilarating thing I’d ever felt.”
…
“Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill,” Hall says. “It’s like it pounds at my brain. I’ll figure out how to deal with it when I get home.”
…
“I enjoy killing Iraqis,” says Staff Sgt. William Deaton, 30, who killed a hostile fighter the night before. Deaton has lost a good friend in Iraq. “I just feel rage, hate when I’m out there. I feel like I carry it all the time. We talk about it. We all feel the same way.”
Just your daily message to remind you that war sucks brought to you by the young men fighting said war.
I am featured in this article too. I would not say I am a young man any more but fighting the war did not suck for me. It is my profession and has been for 17 years. I am an Infantryman, I kill people and break things. What do you do for a living pencil neck? I am a warrior.
I’m not saying they weren’t doing their job. I think the article points out one of the problems of war – the men who fight them (many times very young men) are forever changed. I also think it’s a little scary to think that other people in this world think that killing is “exhilarating”.
As for what I do for a living, it’s quite apparent from this site that I’m a computer geek. It’s guys like us who provide you guys with all of your fancy toys. You can think of geeks as the guys who give you the ability to break more things in more affective manners.
BTW, how could being under the constant rigors of war, constantly being shot at and constantly seeing the destruction NOT suck? How about being halfway around the world away from your family amongst people who would love nothing more than to see you dead? Sounds pretty sucky to me.
